Founded in Brisbane by long-time mortgage broker Jarrod Sanderson, Sando Finance provides mortgage broking and financial advisory services direct to Australian consumers.

Having forged out as sole trader after a long mortgage broking career working for franchises, Sando needed a brand story and brand identity, new website, and marketing support to attract an audience and make his mark on a highly competitive industry.

Insight

Mortgage broking is a competitive landscape, with an estimated 20,000 brokers writing loans across Australia.

Our challenge was to deliver to Sando Finance a sophisticated yet easy-to-navigate website that was on brand, within budget, and positioned business owner Jarrod Sanderson as an empathetic mortgage broker who works for his clients and not for the benefit of lenders.

We know every Australian dreams of one day owning their own home, so we used that sentiment to create a strapline of real emotional resonance for Sando Finance’s audience.

We then replicated that strapline across a range of marketing collateral—playing off the idea of financing your dreams to highlight Sando Finance’s diverse portfolio of financial services.

The strapline informed much of our execution, allowing us to formulate a series of related lines around how Jarrod uses his extensive contact list and vast mortgage experience to help his clients finance their dreams—no matter what they needed financing for.

At the heart of the execution was a willingness to champion the causes close to Jarrod’s heart—integrity, trustworthiness, and the desire to genuinely get a better financial deal for his clients.

We also spoke at length with Jarrod about these values and used them to write a custom profile that showcased his personal motivations for founding his own mortgage broking firm—and why helping his clients lay at the heart of that decision.

Utilising neutral colours designed to convey a mixture of calmness and authority for his visual brand, we delivered a custom website featuring a range of bespoke photography and carefully selected stock imagery—even featuring ‘Sando’s window’ as a nod to clients looking out on financing their home ownership dreams.

The website launch was augmented by a range of carefully targeted Google Ads and Meta campaigns aimed at bringing a highly qualified audience to the site. The end result was a steady increase not only in website visitors, but also in qualified leads.

So pleased was Jarrod with the brand identity Hunt + Hawk helped develop for him, he took things one step further and used it to develop a range of custom-designed merchandise for Sando Finance.
