Brand & site needed to match rapid platform growth
Brand refresh, website redesign
Kumulate launched as a modern, differentiated financial services brand with a name, identity, and digital presence that finally matches the calibre of work it’s been quietly delivering for decades.
A platform built by Australian accountants — a brand built to math it.
ChangeGPS had built something genuinely powerful: a practice management and advisory platform purpose-designed for Australian accounting firms. From tax planning automation and compliance workflows to estate planning and AML tools, the platform had grown into a comprehensive suite trusted by thousands of accountants across the country.
Hunt + Hawk first partnered with ChangeGPS to build the original brand and website from the ground up — defining their visual identity, tone of voice, and digital presence. That work gave ChangeGPS the platform it needed to grow. And grow it did.
When ChangeGPS returned to Hunt + Hawk for a refresh, the brief was clear: the product had evolved, the audience had expanded, and the brand needed to catch up. The refreshed brand and website had to confidently position ChangeGPS as the definitive platform for Australian accounting firms stepping into advisory work — without losing the trust and recognition they’d already built.
Accountants don’t want to be sold to. They want to be understood.
Australian accounting firms are in the middle of a genuine identity shift. The industry’s move from compliance-led work toward advisory services is well underway — but the transition is messy. Partners are stretched. Junior staff aren’t confident operating at partner level.
Workflows aren’t standardised. The tools exist, but the cultural change is hard.
ChangeGPS lives at the centre of that tension. Their platform doesn’t just offer software — it offers a way for firms to systematically elevate the quality of their work across every team member, every client, every engagement.
That’s a meaningfully different value proposition to most practice management tools. But communicating it required more than feature lists and pricing pages. It required a brand with the credibility to speak peer-to-peer with experienced partners, and the clarity to demonstrate exactly what changes when a firm adopts ChangeGPS.
Built by accountants, told like it.
The strategic foundation was a tonal one. ChangeGPS had earned the right to speak with authority — so we let it. The brand refresh moved away from the approachable-but-generic SaaS aesthetic common in the accounting software space, toward something more deliberate: confident, direct, and deeply familiar with the world accountants actually work in.
The core positioning — built by Australian accountants for Australian accountants — became both a structural principle and a creative anchor. Every element of the brand, from the visual identity through to UX copy, needed to reflect genuine insider knowledge of accounting practice, not the outsider enthusiasm of a tech company looking in.
Visual brand development brought this to life through a considered palette of deep navy and clean white that telegraphs professionalism without stuffiness, paired with a confident typographic system that could carry complex product messaging without losing readability. The system had to stretch — ChangeGPS now operates a suite of eight-plus products, and the brand needed to unify all of them while still letting each one breathe.
The website redesign was structured around the buyer’s journey of a senior accounting partner: high scepticism, time-poor, focused on outcomes. Rather than leading with product features, the site architecture leads with problems — then systematically maps the platform’s capabilities to each one. Member stories from real Australian firms are built into the core content architecture, not relegated to a testimonials page.
With ChangeGPS’s acquisition by The Access Group completed, the refresh also needed to future-proof the brand, preserving the trust and recognition of the existing ChangeGPS identity while building a visual language robust enough to grow alongside an expanded product suite and a larger organisational context.
We built them from the brand up, then when they outgrew it, we built them again. That’s the partnership you want.
